IBM Champion Award and a Thank You!

by francie tanner ::
By now this is old news - Ed Brill announced 50 IBM Champions for IBM Collaboration Solutions at PAClug/Admin2011 in Vegas during his keynote - myself being one of them. It's taken me a while to accept this award and I suspect I am not the only person on that list that truly believes they they don't do anything special or out of the ordinary to deserve this. I just speak at conferences and user group events all over the World about how to solve problems, which is something I am very passionate about. I also try to blog (in my spare time) and am fortunate enough to work with a company that is a huge supporter of the IBM Collaboration community as well. Both the Nerd Girls and various user groups events have benefitted from panagenda sponsorships, in some cases on things we were not even attending or directly involved with. I am proud that I can represent my company which does some things just because they're needed and can help. Coincidentally that too is why I do a lot of what I do, which has made it challenging for me to embrace this award, especially if you look at the impressive list of names.

If you're interested in seeing a bunch of these nerds (aka my friends) put their video face on, go to the LotusUserGroup site to watch some "2 minutes with IBM Champions" videos.

In summary, what I'm really trying to say is THANK YOU to everyone who everyone who ever attended any of my sessions, webinars, demos, classroom training or invited me to speak = to everyone who ever taught me something. Thank you to everyone who nominated me and also to panagenda and IBM without which I couldn't do any of the things I do today.
